Mommy Coats: Welcome to A Home for Coats! I am so happy you've stopped by, and hope you will find the conversation light-hearted and challenging. I grew up as a biological child in a home that provided care to foster children. Later, I graduated from college with a degree in social work and started working at a foster care and adoption agency. A couple years later, my husband and I embarked on an adventure to become foster parents ourselves. We were happily surprised to see that what we envisioned for ourselves was not what we got. We now have three beautiful adopted children, which makes our family multiracial! Motherhood came to me in the most unexpected way, and I would not change it for the world. I hope you'll stick around to go on this journey with us.
